Democracy cannot be achieved at the local, regional, or national levels unless it also exists at the level of the business organization, where wealth is created. Cooperative ownership and models like ESOP are a key pathway to meaningful economic and social inclusion, where ownership is not only distributed democratically in the business, but democracy is also implemented through governance.
