Well said. This election has taught me how deeply we are locked into our echo chambers. There is almost zero empathy (on either side) for what it actually feels like to be that person with those beliefs and experiences. Instead we get self-serving articles like the one you mention in the NY Times, which are written to make readers feel content with their existing perception of reality.
My question: how to break through this divide and move towards an integrated discourse in America politics? Without breaking down this wall I think we’re doomed to have this same conversation every four years.
